library media specialists, and other educators who wish
to involve their students in reading and sharing literature
in connection with thematic units. Each
framework suggests books and literature-related materials
to coincide with topics that are often included in the
elementary school curriculum. Many thematic connections
to the basic themed topic. Author information/focus material

Research Strategies for Moving Beyond Reporting focuses on lessons designed to introduce elementary and middle grade students to basic research processes and to provide opportunities for them to practice those processes. Students learn to formulate questions, make predictions based on accumulated knowledge, utilize data gathering techniques, organize, and record data.
