Frog and Toad Framed

Two original "frog" pictures from nieces hang above the candles with a frog and the soap dish filled with soaps and frogs.  Soap dish and candle platter are Target purchases where we found the candles too.  The soaps came from Kohl's department store– see close-up below
Books and framed pictures – childhood drawings and Frog and Toad (Arnold Lobel) notecards finish off this corner.  Crèam picture mats were cut by a friend, and frames came from Wal-Mart.  See close-ups below.  Book basket came from Michael's Crafts and Supplies.

A round table with a mosaic top was found at Younkers – a bowl (planter) from Target, a friend's frog contribution, finished this corner.

Frogs – Creating a Literate Environment

At the core of any literate environment is a collection of books.  These Frog books are the ones chosen for our reading basket.  "Read-It"  "Read-It"

To make the book basket extra special I ordered the Cool Melon books from http://www.matthewgollub.com – they came autographed and I asked Kristine George to autograph hers.  I contacted her from a link on http://www.kristinegeorge.com.

A selection of green, white and blue towels from Target were embellished with frog appliqués.  Skip the appliqués if the recipient is somewhat conservative.  They may not want frogs hopping around them.

Quilts, basket liners, curtains, pillows, plant mats – all with frog motif fabric. Cut-out motif from the fabric to create appliqué pieces. Peter Rabbit watering can is a FTD floral item, reading frogs were a thrift shop find, Willow Angel a gift found at Younkers.
